Do ships dock or tender at Half Moon Cay?
Both. Carnival says guests arrive by pier or water shuttle; the north-side pier was part of the expansion planned for summer 2026. Holland America's cabana listings still mention tenders, so check your line's plan.
Is Half Moon Cay the same as RelaxAway?
Yes. The island (also called Little San Salvador) was renamed RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay in December 2024 as Holland America and Carnival expanded it.
What is free at Half Moon Cay?
The beach and the complimentary lunch spots. Excursions, cabanas and villas cost extra.
What costs extra?
Cabanas and villas, the Stingray Adventure, horseback riding, snorkeling by boat and the Aqua Trax watercraft trip. In October 2026 Carnival listed horseback riding from $136.99, its Beach Cabana (up to 4 guests) from $720.99 and its RelaxAway Cabana (up to 7 guests) from $799.99. Holland America listed its Private Cabana Package from $639 for up to 4.

No. It is a cruise-line island, so activities are sold by Holland America and Carnival. Enjoy the beach here, and if you like booking your own tours, browse the options in our Nassau, Freeport or Key West guides.
Can kids do the stingray and horse excursions?
Stingrays: ages 6 and up, and they must be able to swim. Horses: ages 10 and up, at least 54 inches tall.
