Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point excursions

Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point is Disney Cruise Line’s private island, so its activities, cabanas and excursions are sold by the cruise line rather than by independent tour companies. Book them in your cruise line’s app or planner before you sail; popular ones can sell out.

Calling at another port on the same cruise? That’s where independent tours can save you money: Nassau, Freeport (Grand Bahama), Key West.

Ship tour or go independent?

Lookout Cay is Disney Cruise Line's own destination, so the paid tours here, from snorkel outings to buggy tours, are sold by Disney as port adventures, and cabanas and rentals are Disney extras too. Disney says the tours are run with local operators, but you book them through Disney. The good news is how much is already included: the beaches, chairs, towels, BBQ lunch, soft-serve, waterslides, kids' splash pad, culture shows and the lighthouse trail. Pick a paid extra only if it fits your day, and save your own-tour plans for ports like Nassau, Freeport or Key West, where booking independently gives you more choice.

  • Wagons, life jackets, snorkel gear and floats cost extra here, so plan for that if you have little ones.
  • Serenity Bay cabanas can be reserved when your booking window opens, so book early if you want one.
  • Disney notes that port adventure prices can change without notice; check the list for your sailing.
  • Disney says swimming at Family Beach can be limited by weather, currents or marine life on the day.
  • Leave drones, your own wagons, flotation devices and fishing gear on the ship; Disney doesn't allow them ashore.
  • Guests 18 and older need a passport or government photo ID to go ashore and get back on board.
