Ship tour or go independent?

Alicante works well on your own. The terminal sits close to town, the castle grounds are free and the museums are easy to reach by bus, TRAM or shuttle. Booking your own tour gives you more choice, smaller groups and the freedom to set your pace, whether that is a city walk, a boat to Tabarca or a trip to Elche. The ship's own tours are a fine pick for anyone who would rather leave the timing to the cruise line. Browse the tours below and use the time-ashore filter to find one that fits.

  • Santa Bárbara Castle sits on a hill. Plan for the lift or the shuttle, and check seasonal opening hours.
  • Tabarca is a sea trip of about an hour each way, and boat times vary by season. Check the return time and leave a buffer before all-aboard.
  • The MARQ is closed Mondays, and the Nueva Tabarca museum is closed Monday and Tuesday.
  • Elche is a separate town and the sources give no travel time from the port. A tour that handles the ride and return can make planning easier.
